Job Summary:

Test Database Manager is directly responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of test database maintenance, ensuring the integrity of the database, and managing all supporting documentation including database maintenance in multiple systems, and result validations.  The Test Database Manager acts as a facilitator and a liaison between National Laboratory Operations, Esoteric Technical Laboratory Operations, and IT. This position requires a broad understanding of systems and order to cash processes.  The incumbent manages staff who are responsible for test code maintenance, system analysis, project administration, and maintenance of documentation files.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coaching and mentoring analysts, senior analysts, leads and Supervisors, as well as resourcing projects and providing level of effort.
  • Defines requirements, manage priorities, and ensure timely completion of projects while overseeing the integrity of the test database.
  • Collaborates with the Laboratory Operations, Clinical Franchise, PMO, Product Management, Solution Architects, Business Partners, Application Development, and Software Quality Assurance Teams to understand scope, solutions, constraints, and risks for new projects.
  • Communicates identified risks and collaborates in developing solutions.
  • Partners with Project Managers and Regional Business partners in areas of standardization
  • Responsible for communicating standard process, level of effort, and project status to Clinical Franchise, Laboratory Operations, Senior Leadership and stakeholders. 
  • Expected to use tools to track and report department metrics.
  • Holds regular team meetings to prioritize projects and determine level of effort.
  • Identifies and escalates process issues.
  • Proactively communicates and collaborates with customers to work on requirements, level of effort and prioritization coordinates and facilitates communications with clients, business units, and other Quest Diagnostics’ staff.
  • Responsible for overseeing database problem solving (including quality review discussions), monitoring process performance, and implementing process improvements as needed.
  • Train and onboard staff.
  • Write and maintain test database guidelines and SOPs.
  • Identify and implement test database process improvements.
  • Partner with IT staff in development of software projects
  • Create and manage performance and development documents.
  • Perform other related and ancillary duties inherent to the position or as directed by leadership.
